  74. II.  How to use this Backgrounds Collection
  75.  
  76.     1.  Download the collection onto your harddrive.
  77.  
  78.     2.  To browse the whole collection of backgrounds:
  79.         Using Adobe« Acrobat« Reader« (available for free download at 
  80.         http://www.acrobat.com), open the Images Catalog file to view 
  81.         thumbnails of all 300 images on the CD.
  82.  
  83.     3.  To insert a background image into an existing PowerPoint« slide
  84.  
  85.         a. Choose "Format", "Background", then choose "Fill Effects" 
  86.         from the drop down menu in the pop-up window.  Next, choose
  87.         "Picture" from the fill effects menu and click on "Select 
  88.         Picture".  Choose your Cd-rom drive as the source 
  89.         (generally using the "Look-in:" drop-down menu), then choose 
  90.         an image from the "Background Images" folder on the CD.  
  91.         Click "Ok".  Click "Ok" again.  Then choose one of the 
  92.         following options from the "Background Menu" window:

  94.                1)Choose "Preview" to view the image in your slide 
  95.             without closing the current menu, then choose "Apply" 
  96.             or "Apply to All" or use the drop-down menu again to 
  97.             choose a different image
  98.  
  99.                2)Choose "Apply" to add the background to your 
  100.             current slide or
  101.  
  102.                3)Choose "Apply to All" to add the background to all 
  103.             the slides in your presentation.

  105.         b. Right-click your mouse in a blank area of your slide and 
  106.         choose "Background . . ."  Next, choose "Picture" from the 
  107.         fill effects menu and click on "Select Picture".  Choose your 
  108.         Cd-rom drive as the source (generally using the "Look-in:" 
  109.         drop-down menu), then choose an image from the "Background Images" 
  110.         folder on the CD.  Click "Ok".  Click "Ok" again.  Then 
  111.         choose one of the following options from the "Background Menu" 
  112.         window:

  114.             1)Choose "Preview" to view the image in your slide 
  115.             without closing the current menu, then choose "Apply" or 
  116.                "Apply to All" or use the drop-down menu again to 
  117.             choose a different image

  119.             2)Choose "Apply" to add the background to your current 
  120.             slide or

  122.                3)Choose "Apply to All" to add the background to all 
  123.             the slides in your presentation.
